For convenience sake I often go to the Golden Corral, but only because it has ordinary mediocre food and I can get in and out fast.
My favorite place to go for pan fried chicken is the Lucky Wishbone. Always fresh, tasty and delicious. They have great fresh strawberry milkshakes as well.
My favorite Chinese restaurant is Asia Gardens. They cook authentic Cantonese food and their Almond Chicken has a light brown gravy on it and not that icky thick yellow stuff.
There are no really good breakfast places up here. They generally try to pawn off on you those frozen or dehydrated potatoes and who knows what the eggs are made of. If I had to choose a few places Jackie's in Spenard, Gwennie's on Spenard Road, or City Diner would be my choices.
There are no reallty good diners, the closest thing to a diner here is called the City Diner, but again they use mixes and so forth and that is very noticeable.
I like a good char broiled steak now and then and for a reasonable price the Lone Star is OK - because they have baked sweet potatoes too. The Outback is ok too, but everyone keeps telling me that the Club Paris is the best place for a steak. I had one there, a filet mignon, and it wasn't any better than The Outback or the Lone Star.
For Vietnamese food, I love Ray's Place and I crave their Pho Beef soup.
